Paul Degges is TDOT's Deputy Commissioner and Chief Engineer. It is his job to oversee all engineering projects and divisions, as well as the four regions. Degges received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University and is a licensed engineer. He started his career with TDOT in 1988 working in field construction, roadway design, and information systems and later moved into the Hydraulic Design and Permitting Section of the Structures Division. He joined the Construction Division in 1998 as Assistant Director managing the department's Region 4 contracts. Mr. Degges served as the Director of Region 3 from 2000 until accepting this appointment in mid-2003. |
