The basic responsibility of this office is to enhance and improve communication between TDOT and its stakeholders and customers and to provide accurate and timely information to the public. TDOT uses multiple communication tools to carry out its responsibility including the agency website, publications and social media, all of which are coordinated through this office. This office is also responsible for internal communication through newsletters and other forms of verbal, written and electronic communication. Since public involvement is an important process, this office implements strategies to ensure the public is fully informed and has the opportunity to be involved in developing, building and maintaining our state transportation system.

Luanne Cowan Grandinetti is the manager of Public Involvement and Communication for TDOT. She holds a B.S in Communications from the University of Tennessee and an M.S. in Mass Communications from Middle Tennessee State University. Luanne is a 33-year media veteran with nine years in broadcast news and 24 years in state agency communications. Her responsibilities as Public Involvement/Communication Manager include the oversight of the agency website, public involvement and outreach, agency publications, social media, employee communications, promotional activities and communication planning/strategies. She serves on the state Portal Advisory Committee (PAC). She previously worked for WPLN-FM in Nashville as a Capitol Hill reporter and for WJNL-TV-AM-FM in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. phone: 615.741.2331 |
