The Division of Materials and Tests is responsible for performing all geotechnical investigations for the department and for insuring that all materials used on departmental projects meet the appropriate American Society for Testing & Materials, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials or departmental specifications. This division, in conjunction with other divisions, develops new specifications for the department's projects.
