
ORIGINAL DESIGN LAYOUT
This interchange design replaced the Westbound I-40 Off-Ramp traffic signal with a fly-over bridge and the Eastbound I-40 On-Ramp traffic signal with a tunnel under I-40. Airport flight path restrictions prevented the use of a fly-over structure.

VE RECOMMENDATION LAYOUT
This recommendation replaces the
tunnel with a fly-Over ramp that swings westward to
avoid the flight path restrictions and simplifies
I-40 traffic control during construction. No
acquisition of airport ROW or no relocation of Knights of Columbus
Boulevard was necessary to construct Ramp H.
