Aeronautics Division

The Aeronautics Division represents more than just airplanes and airports, it is commerce. The economic impact aviation creates within the borders of the State of Tennessee is enormous. To facilitate such benefits the Division administers Federal and State funding to assist in the location, design, construction and maintenance of Tennessee's diverse public aviation system.
The Division also has the responsibility of inspecting and licensing the great State of Tennessee's 126 heliports and 74 public/general aviation airports. In addition to maintaining one the nation's best aviation systems, it provides aircraft and related services for state government executives, staffing for the Tennessee Aeronautics Commission, and numerous educational support programs across Tennessee. The Division's offices include Administration, Finance & Grant Management, Engineering & Program Development, Flight Services, and Planning & Programming.
