As a primary aide and advisor to the Commissioner, the Chief of Staff works to ensure the proper flow of communication occurs within the department while keeping the Commissioner informed of all pertinent information. The Chief of Staff works closely with the Chief Operating Officer and the Bureau Chiefs to implement the Commissioner's strategic vision for the agency. A primary role is to assist the Commissioner in his efforts to strengthen TDOT's partnerships with community leaders and elected officials across the state. The divisions of Community Relations/Communications and Legislative Services report directly to the Chief of Staff.
