The Employee Safety office coordinates employee safety for the Department statewide, working closely with the Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the regional Safety Coordinators. The office also coordinates the workers comp for TDOT employees, along with investigating and tracking all auto accidents and property damage involving Department of Transportation employees and/or TDOT vehicles. The office also handles Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) issues, addressing both employee and the public access to TDOT facilities and programs.

ADA COMPLAINT RESOLUTION PROCEDURE

The Tennessee Department of Transportation has adopted an internal complaint resolution procedure providing for prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging any action prohibited by the U.S. Department of Justice regulations implementing Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act.  Title II states, in part, that “no otherwise qualified disabled individual shall, solely by reason of such disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in programs or activities sponsored by a public entity.”
