Office of Incident Management - Who are the HELP operators?

The HELP operators are full-time employees of the Tennessee Department of Transportation. These men and women are all specially trained to be HELP operators. And they all enjoy helping other people!

The HELP training program includes sessions on all of the following:

First aid and emergency medical care* Hazardous materials
   
Traffic control Radio communications
   
Highway Incident Management** Diversity
   
Extinguishing vehicle fires

Using emergency equipment

   

*All of the HELP operators must pass the "First Responder" test and must maintain their certification.
