The Tennessee Department of Transportation, through the Planning Division, in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, has prepared and made available to government agencies and the general public a series of maps of the state and the counties and cities throughout the state.
MAPS
COUNTY GENERAL HIGHWAY MAPS
These maps show county maintained roads with surface type, road names and selected cultural features adjacent to the road. Major drainage, railroads, incorporated cities, villages, reservations and parks are also shown. Each county is printed on one map sheet. Maps are available in two sizes: 1"=1 mile, approximate size 36" X 48"; 1"=2 miles, 18" X 24".
OFFICIAL TRANSPORTATION MAPS OF TENNESSEE
This map shows the Interstate, U.S. Numbered and State Highways with surface type, interchanges and mileage between selected cities, towns, and highway junctions. Also shown are county lines; county names; most cities, towns, or villages by population groups; major lakes and streams; railroads, federal reservations, parks and memorials. Available in two sizes: 1" = 8 miles (2' X 5 1/2'); 1" = 12 miles (1' X 3' 1/2').
REGIONAL HIGHWAY MAPS OF TENNESSEE
These four sectional maps are enlargements of the Official Transportation Map, which is divided by the four regions of the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Scale 1"=4 miles (3' X 3').
CITY MAPS
These maps show the corporate limits, all highways, public streets and roads with names, railroads, streams, hospitals, schools, post offices and other public buildings. Map scale and sheet size vary. Refer to special listing of Maps of Cities and Towns in Tennessee for individual city map scale and number of map sheets.
COUNTY OUTLINE MAPS OF TENNESSEE
These maps show an outline of the state with the county boundaries and county names. Large, medium and legal sizes are available with county seat names. The large and medium maps are available with the interstate system included. Specify with or without county seat or interstate.
TRAFFIC MAPS
These maps show the annual average 24-hour traffic volume on highways and collector routes for each county and many of the larger cities. Photocopies of individuals maps at a scale of 1"=4.5 miles are available. Full size county and some city maps are available which indicate the station number for each count. Call for specific information on availability of city traffic maps as all cities are not available and some cities require more than one sheet. All maps are diazo ammonia copies unless otherwise specified except the
1"=2 miles county maps which are lithographed.

This booklet contains the alphabetical listing of places within the State of Tennessee as shown on the County General Highway Map
ANNUAL AVERAGE DAILY TRAFFIC *
A bound volume showing the annual average 24-hour traffic volume on highways and
collector routes. Contains one map for each of the 95 counties and many of the larger cities. Revised annually around April 1. Also available on CD.
STANDARD DRAWINGS *
Drawings are available in separate binders for each of the following: English roadway, Metric roadway, Structures. Annually billed for updates.
STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION *
This revised book (2006) contains the standard specifications for road and bridge
construction in Tennessee. The current edition contains metric specifications.
SURVEY MANUAL *
This manual serves as a guide in the performance of engineering surveys for TDOT. It establishes statewide uniform policies and procedures as well as minimum acceptable standards of accuracy and completeness. CD only.
TENNESSEE GEODETIC REFERENCE NETWORK MANUAL *
This manual describes the points of the Tennessee geodetic reference network designed primarily for use with GPS. It serves as control for all TDOT surveys.
