West End of East Fifth Avenue Closes

A section of East Fifth Avenue closed permanently today as a part of the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s (TDOT) SmartFIX40 project. The closure includes the section of East Fifth Avenue that lies west of Hall of Fame Drive. When construction is complete this section of roadway will be the new intersection of Hall of Fame Drive and Magnolia Avenue.

The existing East Fifth Avenue will dead end at Hall of Fame Drive. Motorists wishing to continue on East Fifth Avenue will need to turn left onto Hall of Fame Drive and then right on East Fifth Avenue.
