 Section of Fourth Avenue Closed For Repairs

Knoxville, TN. --- The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) announced today that a 1000-foot section of Fourth Avenue from South Luttrell Avenue to Gill Avenue will be closed to traffic on Monday, March 9, 2009 for two weeks for minor repairs.

This section of Fourth Avenue was relocated due to the new I-40 construction associated with the ongoing SmartFIX40 project. The new segment of Fourth Avenue runs adjacent to the Fourth and Gill Community Park and includes new sidewalks, curb and gutters, a small parking area, landscaping and a new tie-in with the existing Third Avenue.
