Survey Work Gets Underway on Unfinished Portion of 840
TDOT updates developments in remaining three 840 segments

Nashville, Tennessee - The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) announced today that  new survey work will begin next week to gather information that will enable TDOT design engineers to better identify streams and provide additional information for the unfinished segment of State Route 840.

“The survey activity will begin March 15, 2004 in the area from Bending Chestnut Road to Thompson Station Road,” announced TDOT’s Chief of Environment and Planning, Ed Cole.   These exercises should take between one to three months.  This new data will insure that we have the most accurate, complete, and current information possible.”

Cole also said a task force is being formed this month that will lead the effort in designing the final segment in a way that is referred to as “context sensitive”; sensitive to the corridor’s aesthetic, cultural and environmental features.  That task force will meet for the first time in May of 2004.
