New truck lane restrictions begin in Tennessee Nashville, Tenn. - New truck lane restrictions established by the Tennessee General Assembly are in effect beginning this week statewide. The Tennessee Department of Transportation is installing signs across the state alerting truck drivers of the new rules requiring them to keep the rigs in restricted lanes in specially designated interstate sections and controlled access roadways around the state. According to the new state law, truck tractors and semi trailers must be restricted to the right two lanes of travel in designated areas of eligible highways where appropriate signage has been posted. Truck lane restrictions shall not apply when trucks are passing other motor vehicles. Buses are not subject to the restrictions. Maps of the specially designated truck lane restriction areas along with links to the truck lane restriction bill can be found below. |
