Our Mission: "The Project Management Division leads multi-disciplinary teams to efficiently deliver quality transportation projects."
TDOT's team approach to managing road projects with a project manager serving as the single point of accountability has increased communication among team members and external stakeholders, and minimized the time required to identify and resolve project issues.
Using the team approach to project development and delivery ensures the appropriate TDOT personnel are involved when needed so the project can stay on schedule, within budget, with limited scope changes, while meeting customer requirements.
As the team facilitator, the project manager is accountable for understanding the relationships of the multiple and diverse development activities, and guiding the subject matter experts who are responsible for producing the many components that are required to move a project from the planning phase through construction.
The Project Management Division, which has an office in the four TDOT regions and at Nashville headquarters, is also accountable for implementing the State Industrial Access (SIA) Program that provides funding and technical assistance for highway access to new and expanding industries throughout the state.
