The Maintenance office is charged with the maintenance responsibility of over 10,200 lane miles of state highway roads covering 26 counties within Region 3.  Six district offices and their associated county facilities plus a floating heavy maintenance office perform day to day general maintenance activities on these roads including Snow and Ice removal, litter pickup and patching.

State Aid:  The Maintenance staff coordinates the disbursement of funds to the county maintained State Aid Highway System and works with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) during disasters through the State Aid Section.

Horticulturist: The Maintenance staff coordinates the vegetation growth and containment via mowing, spraying, planting or removal on state highway roads in addition to managing the Tennessee wildflower program.

Day to Day General Maintenance:

For inquiries regarding day to day general maintenance activities on the state highway roads including Snow and Ice removal, litter pickup and patching select the county or city/town you are interested in and it will point you to the appropriate office for assistance.
