Our
Riders' Views
From sports fans headed toward football games to people in the most
rural counties in Tennessee, transit riders are voicing their opinions.
TDOT surveyed transit riders all over the state on what works and
what doesn’t. The following are transit riders’ comments:
"More
service and more hours. I want service for weekend activities."
-- Hamilton County Rural Transportation rider
"St.
Louis has a great light rail system. Check it out. It started
with lots of
people against it, but it is safe and efficient - low cost, too."
--University of Memphis Tigers Fan
"This
is a wonderful program."
--NWTHRA Vans, Benton County Rider
"I
want to see more transit all over western Tennessee. I want to
pay
additional taxes for public transportation, but can’t afford it
right now."
--NWTHRA Vans, Carroll County Rider
"I’d
like to see transportation for teen parents to get their children
to
daycare, then to school."
--NWTHRA Vans, Henry County
"This
transportation takes me to all my Nashville doctors’ appointments,
or I wouldn’t have a way to go."
--Fayetteville Lincoln County Public Transportation Rider
"Keep
services for people like me, who need them. I’m not sure how much
I
can pay for vans, but if (TDOT) makes it reasonable for people
on disability, I’ll pay."
--NWTHRA Vans, Obion County Rider
