Project Description

The roadway project involves widening State Route 28 (US 127) to five lanes. The project begins at Cleveland Street and ends at the intersection with State Route 68. The project is located in the Cumberland Homesteads Historic District, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

The proposed roadway consists of two 12’ travel lanes in each direction with a 12’ center turn lane. The design includes sidewalks throughout the project. The design speed is 45 mph.

The intersection of State Route 28 (US 127) and State Route 68 will be designed in the geometric configuration of a triangle, representative of the original Cumberland Homesteads design. Click here for more information on the Homesteads design.
