Frequently Asked Questions

1. When will my property be appraised and acquired by the state?

Because the project sections on Highway 41-A will receive Federal-Aid, funding for Property Appraisals and Acquisition must be authorized by the Federal Highway Administration. This authorization is given after all environmental assessments and mitigation have been documented and approved by the administration. Also, projects must be approved for budget allocation in TDOT’s Transportation Program to receive certain types of funding. On Highway 41-A, the following is the status of the funding and budget allocation of the following sections:

SR 64 to SR 276 -
Budget allocated for Appraisals and Acquisition in FY 2001-2002. Funding for Appraisals and Acquisition was authorized by Federal Highways on October 10, 2006. Appraisals and acquisition were completed on February 15, 2011

SR 276 to west of Magnolia Lane -

2. When will the entire section from S.R. 64 to Magnolia Lane be under construction?

The section from SR 276 to west of Magnolia Lane has been divided into two segments to sustain funding for construction.  The two segments  are SR 64 to Rippy Ridge Road (not funded this fiscal year) and Rippy Ridge Road to west of Magnolia Lane (funded this fiscal year (2010). The latter segment was contracted out for construction on April 30, 2010.
